From today's Daily News....

Lawler to be honored June 21

NEWBURYPORT — City officials are planning to dedicate the community’s new water treatment plant clearwell and pump station to the late municipal leader George Lawler on Friday, June 21, at 10 a.m.,
Lawler was a former mayor, city councilor and city clerk. He died in February at the age of 85.
The new clearwell and pump station, located on Spring Lane, are major city projects to ensure the quality of the city’s water supply.
Lawler was chairman of the city’s Board of Water Commissioners when he died.
“Others veteran leaders in this community have been honored, and George really deserves recognition,” said E. Larry Kelley, who heads the water commissioners now. “He deserves recognition because he served this city well in a variety of capacities.”
Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
