5th Annual Asset Builder Awards

Text Box: Newburyport Youth Services and The BEACON Coalition are proud to announce the 5th Annual Asset Builder Awards. This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 7-8:30pm at the City Hall Auditorium located on 60 Pleasant Street. Light refreshments will be provided, and the award reception is open to families with youth of all ages. The Asset Builder Awards are a great opportunity to publicly acknowledge those people throughout Newburyport who are really doing great work for our community. Nominated by members of the community, the recipients have been selected for the award based on their natural ability and desire to support youth in Newburyport. Their relationships with youth in the city are positive, encouraging, supportive and empowering. Our Asset Builder Award winners this year are: Rabi Poupko & family – Positive Family Communication Carrie O’Donnell (NBPT Resident) – Caring Neighborhood Lauren Sundstrom (Youth Advocate) – Equality and Social Justice Stephen Malenfant (NHS Teacher) – Positive View of Personal Future John Halloran (GOMI Science Director) – School Engagement Cathy Hill (PE Teacher) – School Engagement For additional information regarding the event, please contact Mike Uttley at 978-465-4434 or muttley@cityofnewburyport.com.

Ed was elected to the Newburyport City Council in 2007. Currently he serves as chair of the Council's Planning and Development Committee and as a member of the Budget and Finance Committee.
