Storm Update

SENT VIA Email this morning:

Dear Ward 4 Constituent and other Newburyporters,

I wanted to update you on the City's response to the storm on Saturday.

For Newburyport, the city is asking residents to have storm debris placed at the curb by 7 a.m. Saturday. The city will pick up branches and tree limbs only. The City will pick up on Saturday and Sunday.

Curbside pickup of bagged leaves will occur as part of the city's annual leaf pickup program on residents' normal trash day during the weeks of Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12.

Additionally, the Newburyport compost facility will extend its hours until 4 p.m. every day this week, including Saturday, so that residents can drop off storm debris.

There are still several areas of electrical outage, at least as of last night, which included Jefferson Street/Parker Ridge/Adams/Upland and Virginia Lane.

Mayor Holaday and Police Marshal Howard (who coordinates the City's Emergency Mgmt Response) have been staying on NGrid to get these areas back up and running.

If you have questions, please let me know. I am still following up on several clean up areas that people have told me about.

Thanks,

Ed Cameron
